Polyamide (PA) - The Champion of Dynamics and Impact Resistance

Key advantages: flexibility, strength, safety.
Polyamide (PA), also known as nylon, is a true benchmark for products operating under high-load conditions.
Impact resistance and flexibility. Thanks to its exceptional flexibility and high tensile strength, PA perfectly withstands impact loads and vibrations. This makes it an ideal material for tactical buckles, side release buckles (fastex), and fasteners used in dynamic conditions.
Heat resistance. It has good heat resistance, maintaining its mechanical properties across a wide temperature range.
Safety. PA is safer in production and operation, as there is no risk of emitting toxic fumes when heated.

The decisive expert fact: it is no coincidence that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine recommends polyamide in its specifications for military and tactical gear. This is a direct confirmation of its unsurpassed reliability, strength, and safety in critical situations.


Polyacetal (POM): The Master of Precision and Rigidity

Polyacetal (POM) is a material valued for its rigidity and ability to maintain dimensional accuracy.
Precision and stability. POM has excellent dimensional stability, making it ideal for parts that require high manufacturing precision, such as guides, clamps, and mechanisms.
But there is a "BUT"... toxic fumes. Despite all its rigidity, POM has a significant drawback. When heated (for example, during burning or melting), it can emit toxic fumes (formaldehyde). This requires extreme caution both during production and during operation in conditions where contact with high temperatures or open flames is possible.

CONCLUSION

So what is better for hardware?

If you produce tactical gear, backpacks, or any products where impact load, tensile strength, and safety are priorities, polyamide (PA) is your undeniable choice. Its flexibility allows it to absorb impacts, and the absence of toxic risks makes it a favorite for military and outdoor standards.
If your product — is a static mechanism where only dimensional accuracy and high rigidity are key, and the risk of heating is minimal, then POM can be considered.
